F/2 Macro is a carefully formulated blend of essential macronutrients and vitamins designed to support robust phytoplankton growth, cell division, and long-term culture vitality. Offered as a separate macro + vitamins solution alongside F/2 Trace metals, this two-part approach maximizes shelf life by preventing the rapid vitamin degradation that occurs when vitamins are combined with trace metals.
Rapid Growth: Provides bioavailable nitrogen (as nitrate) and phosphorus (as phosphate) to reduce lag time and stimulate rapid exponential growth.
Optimal Stability: Fully soluble ingredients maintain stable pH and salinity levels without causing carbonate-buffer shifts.
High-density Cultures: Supports cell densities exceeding 1 g·L¹ with proper lighting and aeration.
Shake well before use.
Standard Dose: Add 1 mL per gallon (3.8 liters) of fresh or saltwater.
Metric Dose: Use 0.25 mL per liter.
Always dose F/2 Macro in a 1 : 1 ratio with F/2 Trace.
For best results: Measure the required volume of F/2 Macro based on your culture volume.
Measure and add the required volume of F/2 Macro directly to your culture vessel containing both the phytoplankton inoculant and the additional fresh or saltwater for culture expansion.
Add an equal volume of F/2 Trace.
Provide consistent lighting and gentle aeration to maximize culture health and growth rates.
Purified water, Sodium nitrate, monosodium phosphate, thiamine hydrochloride (Vit B1), vitamin B12, biotin.
