Watch one drop of Edmonton tap water go through all four stages. Each one has its own job: grit, then chloramine, then the dissolved solids. Know exactly when to change each.

Typical results with Edmonton tap water (EPCOR 2026 average: 228 TDS, 2.03 chloramine, 176 hardness): the sediment filter catches grit and pipe scale, the carbon block takes chloramine from 2.0 to 0, the RO membrane takes TDS from 230 to about 6, and the DI resin takes it to 0. Results depend on water pressure, temperature and membrane age.
