Shipping policy

New Dawn Aquaculture is a Canadian-based company. Due to logistical challenges surrounding international shipping of live animals, as well as CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) regulations, we currently ship within Canada only.

Shipping rates

Retail and wholesale customers use the same shipping rates and free-shipping offers. All amounts below are in Canadian dollars.

  • Eligible dry goods: free tracked shipping at CA$150. Below CA$150, available carrier rates are calculated at checkout.
  • Salt, sand, and rock: calculated shipping at every order value. These products are excluded from free shipping, including in mixed orders.
  • Livestock, live foods, and frozen foods: overnight shipping where available. Free overnight shipping at CA$250 in eligible areas of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.

Free-shipping thresholds use the physical-product subtotal after discounts, before tax and shipping. Your signed-in wholesale prices count toward these thresholds.

Orders containing salt, sand, or rock use calculated shipping, including when other products are in the same cart. Products with different shipping requirements may be sent separately. Checkout shows the available services and final shipping total for your address.

For local orders, choose pickup in store at checkout where available. In-store purchases taken home do not require shipping.

Shipping Carriers & Timing

Dry goods ship with the available Canada Post, Purolator, or FedEx service selected at checkout. Temperature-sensitive items use an eligible Purolator or FedEx overnight service.

Livestock orders ship Monday through Wednesday for delivery Tuesday through Thursday. We avoid shipping livestock later in the week, as unexpected delays could result in shipments being held in a carrier warehouse over the weekend.

Dry goods-only orders ship Monday through Friday and may not ship as quickly as livestock orders. Overnight delivery is not guaranteed for dry goods.

We aim for overnight delivery on all livestock shipments. Most orders arrive the following business day; however, rural or remote areas may require an additional day for delivery.

You will receive a tracking number once your order has been shipped.

We do not ship orders if the following day falls on a holiday to ensure safe transit.

Not Home for Delivery?

We can ship your order to a carrier pickup location for added convenience. This is often faster and more reliable than residential delivery.

If you would like your order held for pickup, place your order as usual and contact us at info@ndaquaculture.ca. We will arrange delivery to the nearest available location.

Overnight Delivery Availability

While most locations qualify for overnight delivery, some remote areas may have limited service availability.

In these cases, delivery may take longer or require pickup at a nearby carrier location. We are continually working to expand reliable shipping options across Canada.

How We Ship

All orders are carefully packed to ensure safe transit. Live animals are secured in sealed, oxygen-filled bags and placed in insulated containers with heat or ice packs as needed, depending on weather conditions.
