These single-strain cultures are used to seed copepod populations in your tank, enhancing your reef ecosystem by stimulating natural feeding behaviors, boosting biodiversity, and supporting a balanced, self-sustaining environment.
Species Profile: Tisbe Copepods
- Size range: approximately 50 to 250 micrometers, ideal for small or selective feeders.
- Excellent for mandarin gobies, seahorses, fish larvae, filter feeders, and other delicate marine animals.
- Live near the substrate and aquarium surfaces, feeding on waste and microalgae to help maintain tank cleanliness.
- Reproduce continuously, offering a steady supply of nutrient-rich live food.
Instructions
- Acclimate the bottle to your tank’s temperature and salinity.
- Gently release the copepods into your tank or refugium.
- Add them at night when fish are less active.
- Provide additional food such as live phytoplankton to support culture growth.
Storage and Shelf Life
- Oxygenate or open the bottle daily to refresh the air.
- Shelf life is up to 2 months with proper daily oxygenation.
- Store in a stable environment away from extreme temperatures.
