Description
LIVE TIGRIOPUS COPEPODS
Tigriopus copepods are small, hardy crustaceans around 2mm long and commonly used in home aquariums as a highly nutritious live food source for fish, corals, and other marine invertebrates. They are the largest copepods we offer and help in maintaining tank cleanliness by consuming detritus, algae, diatoms, dinoflagellates and waste. Our product, "Tigriopus - Live Zooplankton" is a premium bottled culture of Tigriopus copepods, specially cultivated on site to ensure maximum health and nutritional value.
RICH NUTRITIONAL PROFILE
Each bottle of live Tigriopus contains a high concentration of essential fatty acids, amino acids, and vitamins, making them an excellent food source for promoting vibrant colors and healthy growth in marine life.
CLEAN UP CREW
Tigriopus copepods are known as Harpacticoids and are considered primarily as marine epibenthic organisms. What does epibenthic mean? The term epibenthic refers to organisms that dwell on or just above sediments. In most aquariums they will live in live rock, and in or on top of your sand if your tank has it. This makes them a perfect addition to your clean up crew as due to their larger size, they are able to eat a range of different foods such as: some algae, diatoms, dinoflagellates, detritus, and any waste build up within the tank.
EASY TO USE WITH CONVENIENT STORAGE
The product comes in a resealable bottle that can be stored in your refrigerator for extended shelf life. Oxygenate the bottle daily and add food( we use Tetraselmis) when the bottle runs clear until all copepods are added to the tank.
Our ready-to-use liquid formula allows for easy pouring directly into your aquarium. Acclimate the bottle to your tank's water conditions. Release the copepods into your tank or refugium. It's best to do this at night when fish are less active. Initially, you may need to provide additional food for the copepods, like live phytoplankton.
SUSTAINABLE & TOUGH
The Tigriopus copepods are sustainably bred in our Edmonton Based Coral Farm. We breed them by feeding them our "Tetraselmis - Live phytoplankton".
Further, these hardy organisms have a high survival rate in marine aquariums, ensuring a long-lasting and cost-effective food source.
