Concentrated Phosphate-Binding Solution

Reef Charge PhosLock is a concentrated phosphate-binding solution for reef and marine aquaria. It binds reactive PO4 into a filterable particulate for controlled phosphate reduction when used with mechanical filtration and/or protein skimming.

Use When

  • Phosphate is testing above your target range.
  • You want a controlled, test-guided phosphate reduction without adding organics.
  • Your system has mechanical filtration, filter floss, a filter sock, or protein skimming available to remove the formed particulate.

Directions

  • Test PO4 before dosing.
  • Dose near a mechanical filter or protein skimmer intake.
  • 1 mL per 4 US gal targets up to 1.0 ppm PO4 reduction.
  • Do not exceed 0.5 mL per 4 US gal per day.
  • Dose gradually. Allow the water to clear, remove particulate through filtration/skimming, then re-test before dosing again.

Important Caution

  • Rapid PO4 reduction may stress sensitive livestock.
  • If corals, clams, or other livestock react, stop dosing or reduce the dose by 50%.
  • Use with reliable phosphate testing. Avoid large swings.

Ingredients

  • RO/DI water

Reefkeeper reviews

Are you going to be making this product in 16OZ Size or in 500 ML Size bottles ?
Asked by Pat Scherf
Answer:

Yes, we’re working on expanding both the Reef Charge product range and the available sizes of our current products. We’re starting by launching each product in the size that will suit most customers. PhosLock is a very concentrated lanthanum chloride–based phosphate reducer, so most aquariums require only a small amount to lower phosphate levels. That’s why it is currently sold in an 8 oz bottle. Larger sizes are being worked on and will be added as the product range expands.
