Build a live phytoplankton bundle around your reef. Choose at least three separate 16 oz bottles from Isochrysis, Rhodomonas, and Tetraselmis. Repeats are welcome: select 1 + 1 + 1, 2 + 1, three of one culture, or any larger mix.
Retail bundle pricing: When your cart contains three or more eligible phytoplankton bottles, the automatic 10% discount applies to every eligible bottle. Signed-in B2B customers receive their company catalog pricing without an additional retail bundle discount.
Select any combination of the available cultures below. If one culture is unavailable, build your bundle from the others.
A red cryptophyte valued for diversity in reef-feeding routines. Its red pigment profile is associated with phycoerythrin, and it is commonly used in enrichment and mixed-phyto rotations.
A golden-brown microalgae widely used for copepod enrichment and as a consistent daily phyto. Like other live phyto, it can incorporate dissolved nutrients into biomass; the most reliable nutrient-lowering effect happens when that biomass is consumed or exported.
A green flagellate often used to broaden a rotation and keep microfauna active. It is a strong fit for mixed reefs and refugium-based systems focused on food-web stability.
Live phyto can support corals directly, because some species capture very fine suspended foods, and indirectly by feeding pods and other microfauna that become coral food. Most reef keepers see the most consistent results when phyto is dosed steadily and paired with appropriate export.
Start at 1–5 mL per 10 gallons daily. Start low, adjust based on livestock response and NO3/PO4 trends, and prioritize consistency over occasional heavy doses.
Use smaller daily doses consistently. Stable, repeatable feeding generally supports pod stability better than large spikes.
Many reef keepers pause skimming or UV for 30–60 minutes after dosing to reduce immediate removal. If nutrients run high, leave export on and dose more conservatively.
Yes. Three bottles is the minimum, not the maximum. Add as many eligible bottles as you need; retail customers receive 10% off every eligible bottle once the cart reaches three.
Yes. Repeats are allowed, so you can select three of one culture or any mix of the available choices.
Both. Phyto supports copepods, filter feeders, and the broader microfauna food web.
No. Many reef keepers pause them briefly to reduce immediate removal, but systems with elevated nutrients may benefit from leaving export on.
No. Each selection is a separate single-culture bottle, giving you control over dosing and rotation.
Taxonomy note: Organisms are listed at the genus level because exact species and strains may vary by culture line and are not specified on this bundle page.
