Iodide 53+

Iodide 53+ is a concentrated iodide supplement for measured correction in reef aquariums. Dose only for an iodine deficit confirmed by a reliable test. Standard ICP testing measures total iodine. The formula contains 8 mg iodide per mL; 1 mL per 25 L (approximately 6.6 US gallons) raises iodide by approximately 0.320 ppm. This is a concentration reference, not a routine dose.

Instructions

Test iodine or iodide with a reliable test before dosing.

Calculate dose: Use only in aquariums with at least 32 L (approximately 8.5 US gallons) of actual water volume. Calculate from actual water volume and the measured deficit. Limit each correction step to +0.025 ppm, round down to the nearest 0.1 mL, and skip smaller doses.

Dose safely: Do not increase iodide by more than 0.05 ppm in 24 hours. Re-test after 24 hours and obtain a new ICP result before another course. Do not dose daily without tests.

Compatibility: Never dose blindly. Do not stack with another iodine, iodide, or Lugol's product.
