Planktura Reef Pulse Live Munnid Isopods

A cultured population of small, free-living marine isopods for established reef aquariums and refugia. Munnids move across rockwork, macroalgae, and other sheltered surfaces, adding benthic microfaunal diversity and a potential live prey item for small reef fish.

Why add munnid isopods?

  • Benthic diversity: populate sheltered surfaces that complement water-column copepods.
  • Living reef habitat: well suited to mature systems with porous rock and macroalgae.
  • Supplemental live prey: small reef fish and other planktivores may forage on established populations.

How to use

  1. Float the sealed bottle for 10-15 minutes to equalize temperature.
  2. Gradually acclimate the culture to the aquarium's salinity.
  3. Release after lights out near porous rockwork or directly into a refugium.
  4. Pause filter socks, UV, and other fine mechanical filtration for several hours.

Care before use

Keep at a stable room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Open daily for gas exchange and use promptly after receipt. Add only to an established marine aquarium. Live organism size and density vary naturally between cultures.
